Beginner's Guide

Getting started with Terramine

Terramine is a location-based game where you buy mines and interact with other players' mines. You spend Terrabucks (TB) to buy mines — you start with 1,000 TB free, plus another 1,000 TB after your first purchase if you used a referral code.

Mine types

Every mine you buy is randomly assigned a type. Individual luck varies, but the more mines you own, the closer you'll get to the average distribution.

Each mine has 3 things you can do

  • Daily activity (conveyor belt, coal pile, sluice box, slot machine) — click for free materials and occasional TB. Skippable early on; mostly useful to keep a mine active.
  • Minigame — the best way to progress. Gives TB and upgrade materials.
  • Upgrades office — level up the mine to boost earnings.

Minigames

Rock mine
Memory game

Flip cards to make matches. 1 TB per level. Slowest to grind.

Coal mine
Miner maze

Guide the miner to the bottom-right exit. 5 TB easy, 15 TB medium (LVL 11+), 30 TB hard (LVL 31+). Ladders only move up/down. First click turns the miner, second click moves.

Gold mine
Gold rush

Rotate tiles to build a path to the pot of gold. 1–2 TB per level. Working backwards from the pot can help.

Diamond mine
Laser blast

Rotate mirrors to hit the targets. 1–2 TB per level. Higher levels have multiple lasers — match by color.

Tip 1: Minigame level is unique per mine — start a fresh mine to grind the easier lower levels instead of the hard high ones.
Tip 2: Higher minigame levels drop more materials (and rarer ones), even when the TB payout is the same.

Upgrades office

Each mine level adds +1% to that mine's earnings. Costs scale up rapidly while the benefit stays flat, so:

  • Level up your lowest-level mines first — LVL 1→LVL 2 gives the same +1% as LVL 9→LVL 10, for a fraction of the cost.
  • Prioritize rarer mine types (Diamond → Gold → Coal → Rock) since 1% of a bigger rent is worth more.

Upgrade cost curve

Epic-tier material needed per level. Costs double each level (confirmed through LVL 17, assumed beyond).

Marble, diamond coal, gold ingot and flawless diamond are rare drops from the daily activity, but consistently appear starting at these minigame levels:

Check-ins

If you live near another player you can check in at their mine for some TB. Turn on your boost first.

  • Regular check-in: 6 TB
  • With text or picture: 10 TB
  • With text and picture: 14 TB
  • The mine owner gets 1 TB per check-in.

Daily streak bonuses:

  • 3rd check-in: +10 TB
  • 5th check-in: +25 TB
  • 10th check-in: +50 TB
Tip: Pair up with a friend or family member and place mines at each other's home base for easy daily TB. Use the player heatmap to find active areas.

What should I focus on?

  1. Early game: Grind TB and buy mines. Ignore the daily activity and upgrade office. Your buy/check-in radius is a 5×5 grid centered on you, so it fills fast.
  2. When your area is full: Move around to place mines elsewhere, or start upgrading — Diamond → Gold → Coal → Rock.

Finding & managing your mines

Open your profile → Properties to sort your mines by name, type, inactivity, mine level or game level. From your Portfolio, tap a mine type to filter the properties list to just that type — great for hunting down low-level mines to upgrade.

Mine activity requirements

Mines need activity every 6 months to keep earning. After 12 months of no activity they get deleted. Activity = receiving a check-in, doing the daily activity, or playing the minigame. Sort your properties by inactivity to find at-risk mines (flagged at 5 months).

Place mines in high-traffic areas so other players' check-ins keep them alive with no work from you.

Earnings per level-1 mine

Monthly rent for a fresh LVL 1 mine, unboosted and with the ×20 Rent Rewards boost:
